Mr Adam FOWLER
Neurosurgeon
Mr Fowler grew up in Sydney, New South Wales and attended the University of New South Wales. He was awarded the University Medal for outstanding academic performance, graduating in 1998. After completing internship and residency at Royal North Shore Hospital, he was commissioned in the Royal Australian Navy as a Medical Officer. During his time in the defence force, he saw active service in the Middle East and various peace-keeping and humanitarian missions. He subsequently commenced Neurosurgical studies in 2004 attached to major teaching hospitals in Sydney and Canberra. He obtained his PhD in Molecular Genetics of high-grade brain tumours at the Kolling Institute of Medical research from the University of Sydney in 2011.
Mr Fowler completed a Fellowship in Paediatric Neurosurgery at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in 2014 and was appointed as a Staff Specialist. In 2022 he regularly assisted the Neurosurgery Department at Royal Hobart Hospital until 2023 when he accepted a Staff Specialist Position.
He has interests in all aspects of adult neuro-oncology, common spinal pathologies and paediatric congenital and craniofacial conditions.
