Dr Barnes is an Australian trained and qualified general practitioner.

In addition to his work as a general practitioner, Dr Barnes also has considerable experience as a surgical assistant. His main interests are neurosurgery and orthopaedic surgery. However, he has worked across a wide range of specialties at all hospitals within Hobart .

Dr Barnes has a particular interest in musculoskeletal medicine. He consults with patients at the Centre for Neurosurgery and assists Mr Thani and Dr Ibbett in surgery.
